
The finalists in the inaugural Coventry and Warwickshire Foodie Awards have been unveiled.
The new Foodie Awards 2021, in partnership with Warwickshire County Council and Stop by Coventry and backed by the Courier and Weekly Information, is a celebration of the finest of the region’s food stuff and consume scene as they re-emerge from the pandemic year.
Much more than 40 food items and drink enterprises across the region will now come under the scrutiny of a panel of judges built up of some of the major names in the marketplace, such as chef Glynn Purnell, appearing along with his previous employer Andreas Antona, owner of The Cross in Kenilworth, and Russell Allen, handling director of Aubrey Allen.
Also on the judging panel will be food items blogger Chris Hardy AKA ‘The Excess fat Foodie.’
All the finalists are now invited to a finalists and supporters function in Coventry on July 22, which will also act as a curtain-raiser to the return of Coventry BID Foodstuff Competition weekend.
Kicking off on Friday July 23, the festival is aiming to host the most significant choice of artisan foods producers in the region and will be headlined by Michelin Star chef Theo Randall and Lesley Waters, who is nicely regarded for her cookery textbooks, and television appearances on Prepared Steady Cook dinner (BBC), Wonderful Meals Stay (UKTV), and This Early morning (ITV).

Judging the Covid Resilience Award will be entrepreneur, trader and speaker John Stapleton who founded and grew client-led firms in the Uk and United states. He now gives advice and mentorship to increasing enterprises.
