Dan Pelosi The Secret Sauce—GrossyPelosi New Show


Dan Pelosi’s signature tagline “I reside below now” could not be much more fitting for his new gig. Dan—aka GrossyPelosi—is becoming a member of Foodstuff52 as a Resident and online video host of his new series, “The Mystery Sauce.” You could know Dan for his popular vodka sauce (acknowledged lovingly by GrossyPelosi fans as ‘The Sawce’, his qualified flavor and eye for style and design (see his curated Grossery Listing), or from his delightful and delightful Instagram presence @GrossyPelosi. Now, he’s touring throughout the Tri-State area to check out Food stuff52 community users to share their most beloved recipes and prepare dinner together.

Dan’s like of food stuff started in his loved ones kitchen, cooking with his Italian- and Portuguese-American dad and mom, grandparents, and wonderful-grandparents (his 100-calendar year-old grandpa Bimpy’s recipe for Giambotta is one of our favorites). Though researching abroad in Italy, all through higher education at the Rhode Island College of Style, Dan rekindled his enjoy for cooking and sharing his appreciation for food items with some others. Fast ahead 12 yrs and Dan is a total-time content creator, recipe developer, and author, forging a new local community by food stuff and social media.

In “The Top secret Sauce’s” sequence premiere, Dan visits Suzanne, a longtime member of the Foodstuff52 community, foods blogger, and avid house cook dinner who channels her Italian-American heritage into her property cooking. Suzanne teaches Dan to make her recipe for Meatloaf, Basic and Simple, which gained Food stuff52’s recipe contest back in 2011. The two are absolutely kindred spirits: “I grew up in a kitchen of Italian women of all ages telling me what to do, so this is actually my consolation zone,” claims Dan as he and Suzanne chop vegetables at her kitchen area table. “I did, too,” agrees Suzanne.

The recipe will come from Suzanne’s mom, and was a staple on her childhood desk. Her basic meatloaf comes alongside one another with a combine of both raw and cooked vegetables, ground pork and beef, and breadcrumbs. But, the greatest part about creating this meatloaf are the sandwiches the following day. Suzanne slathers her meatloaf in ketchup which caramelizes in the oven and locks in dampness, creating it the best contender for leftovers. Pro suggestion: Back in elementary faculty, Suzanne, a self-proclaimed “stickler for crisp lettuce,” would instruct her mother to pack the lettuce for her meatloaf sandwiches in a moist paper towel on the side so she could freshly assemble the sandwich at lunch!

Soon after they’re finished cooking, Dan joins Suzanne and her cute pug Jenna Rose for a stroll, in the course of which they explain to tales about treasured cooking utensils, and bond more than their shared experiences developing up in Italian-American residences the place food stuff and cooking was a display of adore.
