Summer restaurant specials have started to trickle in. Pretty soon, they’ll become a downpour of deals, and in this sticker-shock era, that’s a welcome thing.
Here’s a range of summer specials already announced, from north to south county.
(We’ll update this list online as new deals are announced, so make sure to check this page throughout summer!)
Casa Caña
Weekly summer deals at Casa Caña. This months-old, retro-Miami-inspired eatery in Tequesta has rolled out three weekday specials: On Tuesdays, kids eat free of charge. Wednesdays belong to half-price wine by the bottle. On Thursdays, women customers get half-price drinks all night. (The specials are available until Oct. 31.)
Speaking of drinks, the casual spot also offers happy hour specials from Tuesday through Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m. They include $4 beers, $5 well drinks, $6-$7 house wines, $8 cocktails and a range of bar bites like empanadas, tostones and tacos.

Cod and Capers
The Summer Seafood Party at Cod and Capers in North Palm Beach. The family-owned seafood market/café popular for its seasonal stone crab selection and other fresh-catch options has new summer deals on Wednesdays and Thursdays at the café from 4 to 8 p.m. They include half-price bottles of wine, $2 oysters or clams and other specials.

Avocado Cantina
Avocado Cantina’s summer happy hour. This Yucatan-inspired cantina has rolled out a new happy hour for summer weeknights. Offered throughout the restaurant from 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, the happy hour drink deals include $5 house margaritas, $25 margarita pitchers and $4 draft beers. There’s a variety of $4 happy hour tacos for the pairing – from carne asada with chimichurri to spicy chicken with queso blanco to grilled fish with ají amarillo and avocado to vegetarian tacos. Add to that an assortment of $5 bar bites and you’ve got options.

Prezzo
Summer Date Night at Prezzo. The 90’s-era Italian concept with locations in Palm Beach Gardens and Boca Raton is serving a special three-course dinner for two from Sundays through Thursdays.
Priced at $100 for two, plus tax and tip, the “Date Night” dinner includes a choice of one appetizer to share (think smoked burrata or crispy calamari), two entrees (like snapper oreganata, veal chop Parm and other options), a shareable dessert (tiramisu, ricotta cheesecake or apple tart) and a glass of wine each (Barone Fini pinot grigio or Josh Cellars cabernet). The prix-fixe dinner is available through Oc. 31.
Both locations also are offering takeout deals from Sundays through Thursdays when you order online via the Prezzo website, EatPrezzo.com. On Sundays, family-sized takeout meals for four start at $50. On Mondays, Prezzo’s Marguerita pizzas are $10 all day. On Tuesdays (through Sept. 30), you get a 10% discount if you spend $30 when you use the code “Tuesday10” at checkout. On Wine Wednesdays, get a free bottle of red or white wine when you buy two entrees from that night’s selection. And on Thursdays, you get a free appetizer and dessert when you order two entrees from that night’s selection.

Kitchen
Kitchen’s summer prix fixe. Both locations of Chef Matthew Byrne’s Kitchen restaurant (West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens) are offering a $45 summer menu.
The three-course dinner starts with a choice of three appetizers (including house-cured salmon with potato latke, arugula and lemon cream). For their main dish, diners get a choice of four options (like Byrne’s “Simple Chicken” with truffled mashed potatoes and garlic spinach). And there’s a choice of chocolate pie or strawberry shortcake for dessert – or they can order a slice of Byrne’s famous coconut cake for a $5 upcharge. Vegetarian options are offered as well.
An additional $10 buys you a glass of prosecco, or white or red wine.

The SoSo
Summer Supper Series at The SoSo. This new “fast-fine” café kicked off a monthly series of prix-fixe suppers on June 4, starting the series with a Japanese-inspired menu. The SoSo’s executive chef/partner Cesar Brea will follow that multi-course feast with another one on Saturday, July 2, featuring a Latin American menu. The final summer feast happens Saturday, Aug. 6, and celebrates Mediterranean flavors.
The five-course dinners cost $89 per person, plus tax and tip. Beverages, including beer and wine, can be purchased separately. Tickets are available at OpenTable.com.

LoLa 41
Sushi Sundays at LoLa 41. The Palm Beach bistro just kicked off a summer special offering BOGO-free sushi rolls from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday. The deal includes classic rolls like the Honshu (tuna, cucumber, avocado, topped with hamachi and poke sauce) and specialty rolls like the Yutaka (barbecue eel, king crab, avocado, crispy tempura bits). The rolls usually are priced from $12 to $31.
There’s also a brand-new happy hour at LoLa, offered at the bar daily from 4 to 6 p.m. Half-price drinks and $10 small plates and sushi rolls are served. The $10 bites include Cantonese pork potstickers, skirt steak tacos and duck buns.

Almond Palm Beach
Almond’s summer prix fixes. This New York-native Palm Beach restaurant is running three-course menu specials at lunch and dinner.
At lunch, the $25 prix-fixe menu offers three starter options (like a little gem lettuce salad with charred corn, smoked bacon, avocado and a 10-minute egg), three entrée options (including tacos of the day) and dessert (as in ice cream and sorbet). At dinner, the $45 menu starters include steamed mussels with shallots, garlic and white wine. Entrée options include banana leaf steamed mahi with coconut curry. And there’s dessert (ice cream, sorbet) as well.
During summer, Almond serves lunch and dinner service from Wednesday through Friday, brunch and dinner on Saturday and only brunch on Sunday.

Avalon Steak and Seafood
A summertime “Taste of Avalon.” This year-old downtown Delray Beach restaurant has rolled out a $65 prix-fixe menu for early diners.
Avalon’s three-course menu includes three appetizer options (as in angry lobster tagliatelle), three entrée options (like a 7-ounce NY strip with fingerling potatoes, tricolor carrots and wine sauce) and a choice of dessert (including flourless chocolate torte with salted caramel sauce). Vegetarian options are offered as well.
The “Taste of Avalon” menu is available from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Burt and Max’s
Burt and Max’s kids-eat-free deal. Part of Burt Rapoport’s Restaurant Group, the suburban Delray restaurant offers a free meal to kids 12 and younger with the purchase of a grown-up’s entrée. The special runs Mondays through Wednesdays. For the grown-ups, Burt and Max offers “Wines-Days” from Sundays through Thursdays, when you get bottles of wine (except for Champagne) at half price with the purchase of an entrée.

Pagoda Kitchen
Pagoda Kitchen’s new early dining deal. A sister restaurant and plaza neighbor of Burt and Max’s, this three-month-old, Chinese-inspired restaurant just rolled out an $18.95 early-bird special that includes an entrée, soup or salad, an egg roll and a soft drink, tea or coffee. The deal is offered from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Pagoda also has a bar special Sundays through Thursdays – get happy-hour prices all night at the inside bar when you make a food purchase of $20 or more, per customer.
Both Burt and Max’s and Pagoda Kitchen are at the Delray Marketplace, 14851 Lyons Road (at West Atlantic Avenue), in suburban Delray Beach. The deals are good through Sept. 30.
Corvina Seafood Grill
Corvina’s summer specials. This Boca Raton seafood-loving restaurant has rolled out a slate of weekly deals.
Sundays belong to half-price bottles of wine ($100 bottles or less) with the purchase of an entrée. On Martini Mondays, you get half-price martinis if you’re dining in. Tuesdays, of course, are for all-night taco deals ($9 fish tacos, $5 margaritas). On Hump Day Wednesdays, happy hour runs late, from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursdays mean half-price oysters by the half-dozen.
Corvina also has extended its happy hour (which starts at 4 p.m. throughout the week) by a half hour on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, to 7 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, happy hour deals are offered as usual until 6:30 p.m.
Corvina’s happy hour specials are available at the indoor/outdoor bar. They include a nice-price menu offering nine $9 dishes.
