J. Alexander’s Calamari with Marinara Sauce

  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 pound calamari tubes, lower into 1/4-inch rings
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Calamari Batter (see recipe)
  • 1/2 cup Breading (see recipe)
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan, for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon wedge, for serving
  • 1/2 cup home made or store-purchased marinara sauce, for serving
  • 1/2 lemon, for garnish
  • In a Dutch oven, insert oil to a depth of at the very least two inches. Warmth to 350 degrees.
  • In a medium bowl, toss calamari tubes with Cajun seasoning. Insert batter and toss until eventually nicely-coated.
  • Put breading in a pie plate. Shift calamari from bowl to pie plate and toss until eventually effectively coated. Shake off excessive breading as you transfer calamari to scorching oil.
