Taheni Mediterranean Grill opens in Staten Island Mall Food District

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Founded on their mother’s Middle Eastern-inspired recipes, associates of the Deib family members — Palestinians who immigrated to the United States from the West Bank — have crafted their cafe model about dwelling-cooked meals they grew up taking in for lunch and meal.

“My mom (Jehad Deib) was a fantastic cook dinner. And we use all her recipes in our restaurants. All of our recipes are designed from scratch,” said Malek Deib, of Taheni Mediterranean Grill, which is the most recent addition to the Staten Island Mall’s Foods District in New Springville.

Malek Deib, who runs Taheni Mediterranean Grill with other relatives users, mentioned he’s very pleased that all the things served at the location is handmade.
